The purpose of the course is to train the participants on integrated water resources management (IWRM) concepts and applications. Integrated Water Resources Management is “a process which promotes the coordinated development and management of water, land and related resources, in order to maximize the resultant economic and social welfare in an equitable manner without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems”. The course will focus on the introduction of holistic approach to water management based on the Dublin principles of IWRM. The course is designed to support the Zambezi Valley Development Agency in fulfilling its strategy that includes the development of studies and strategies that promote economic and social development of the Zambezi River Basin in Mozambique.
